Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has now announced that they are going to come up with Fibre to the home service in selected regions with speeds upto 100 Mbps. The plans would cost the customers in the range of Rs 3000 to Rs 84000 based on the package and bandwidth opted for.
This service is useful for customers who are into high speed requirements and also into video calling / conference services which need very high speed connections.
Already a few private companies in India have started offering high speed broadband connections at budget prices but this step from BSNL can bring the whole system to move towards higher speeds. You can check out the plans of Beam Tele which already offer 20 Mbps plans at a budget price but these new offerings can bring in more competition leading to more price cuts for the customers. Already BSNL have started doing trails of this new offering and is targetting upto 1000 customers in the next three months because these new services will need special optical fibre cables to be installed along with a infrastructure to maintain the same.
