7 Common Obstacles to Online Business Success

Online business success tends to elude many and for varying reasons none of which can not be easily overcome. The typical business entrepreneur entering the internet 'arena' generally have little or no experience building a business or even being their own boss! Although lacking experience is not enough to keep you from being successful online more problems can arise and compound themselves when you factor in the distracting internet environment!

Here are 7 common obstacles that tend to increase the difficulty for many of becoming successful online when they are building a business.

Info Overload

One thing about the internet is that you will never be at a loss for finding new information on any subject imaginable. The problem with this is that when building a business you need to be focused on what it is you are trying to achieved and not allow yourself to get distracted. Believe you me the internet can easily distract you with everything it has to offer!

Lack of Direction

As mentioned above focus is very important when working online and this also means you need to know what to focus upon. Without a plan or definite set of objectives you will find yourself 'floating' aimlessly chasing after many opportunities but accomplishing nothing! As in life, in order to be successful online you need to have some sort of direction since without it you are lost!

Lack of Passion

The importance of having a certain level of enthusiasm or passion for what it is you are doing can not be talked about enough. This passion will bring with it plenty of energy and motivation that you are going to need since it will take some time to establish yourself! Many people lack this and therefore seem to 'fizzle' out after a short period of time.

Indecision

As a business entrepreneur you will have many decisions that will have to be made and quite often they will need to be made quickly. The internet is a dynamic and fast paced environment that presents many changes and opportunities. Your ability to think fast and move even faster will be a major factor in the degree of success you experience. Indecision on your part will result in many lost opportunities and plenty of frustration.

Business Inexperience

In most cases people working online did not start out with a lot or any previous experience as entrepreneurs. Knowing how to develop a plan of action and also how to manage yourself and time are key assets in order for you to become successful online. None of these 'skills' are difficult to learn but they can not be overlooked since in doing so it will makes your efforts all the more difficult and the results less rewarding.

Negative Influence

It is very important to surround yourself with positive minded people who share the same interest as you. Critics, skeptics and people who in general are afraid to take a chance at anything will be the first to tell you it can NOT be done! They live in fear of another person who succeeds at something they are not willing or motivated to try therefore they will be a source of negative reinforcement. Building a business is hard enough so you do not need people like this making you question yourself all the time!

Easily Discouraged

Earlier on we spoke of the need for having a passion for what you do and this is a major reason why. The results you are looking for will likely not occur overnight so you will need to continue applying effort and be patient. The thing about failure is you do not really fail until you actually give up and getting discouraged easily tends to make you quit your efforts before you experience success.

Achieving business success on the internet comes with some inherent but minor difficulties that can be overcome. In most cases the problems usually can be traced back to an overall lack of experience at building a business or even managing yourself. In either case the average business entrepreneur is quite capable of learning what they need to know and acquiring the needed experience. On the other hand when you consider the distractions that the internet environment presents, these minor problems tend to get magnified! The discussion above reviews 7 common obstacles that result from these 'conditions' and as you can see none of them are insurmountable! It boils down to your own ambition and desire to become successful online and if this desire is strong enough these obstacles can be easily overcome!

You can also find courses that will help you learn, or you can locate a mentor to learn from. The secret is to learn everything you need to know, one step at a time, no matter what way you choose.

If you do these things, you will soon find that you are on the right road to success within a short period of time. Just don't try and rush things because achieving success will take time.

Major Financial Mistakes to Avoid

No one likes to make mistakes, but it’s inevitable that we all do every so often. And while things like screwing up a recipe or calling someone by the wrong name, for example, are mix-ups we can live with, mistakes relating to personal finance—whether they be caused by bad information, lack of attention to detail or simple forgetfulness—can hurt our wallets. Since you don’t want an avoidable error to cost you money, why don’t we try to learn our financial lessons, so to speak, before experiencing practical repercussions? That sounds pretty good to me, so without further ado, here are five common credit card mistakes and how you can avoid them:
1. Being overly rewards-focused
Points, miles, cash back. Sometimes it seems like rewards are the only things on consumers’ minds. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked what rewards credit card someone should get when “none” is the obvious answer. A good general rule of thumb is that rewards should be your primary focus only if you have excellent credit AND pay your bill in full every month. Otherwise, building credit cost-effectively with a card that has a low fee structure or avoiding interest with a 0% credit card will benefit you more. If these cards come with some sort of rewards program, consider that a happy accident.
In addition, if you meet the general criteria for rewards, don’t automatically focus on travel rewards. The possibility of point/mile devaluation, which increases if you’re not able to redeem often, make travel rewards only suitable for frequent travelers (i.e. people who compile 20 nights in a hotel and/or 30,000 miles in an airliner per annum).
2. Using an NPSL card
Let’s get this out of the way to start: There is no such thing as a credit card without a spending limit. There are, however, credit cards with limits that are determined on a month-to-month basis and are not communicated to cardholders or credit scoring agencies. The problem is, many people mistake them for unlimited cards and are surprised when they get declined at the point-of-sale or when their credit scores fall as a result of the misleading credit utilization data that some issuers provide companies like FICO, the largest credit-scoring outfit in the U.S.
Cards susceptible to such unfortunate mistakes all share a common feature: No Preset Spending Limit, commonly known as simply “NPSL.” Credit card companies choose not to inform NPSL cardholders of their exact monthly limits or provide credit scorers with straightforward, accurate credit limit information because they want to prolong the myth of an unlimited credit card.
3. Spending beyond your means
Simply put, your financial outlay should not exceed your income. While revolving a balance is sometimes necessary to finance an important big-ticket purchase or handle an emergency situation, for example, allowing your monthly spending to consistently exceed your means speaks to some fundamental financial problems.
If you are currently in debt, eliminate expenses until only true necessities remain (i.e. food, shelter, health insurance). Then use the Island Approach to systematically pay down what you owe, designate a credit card as being only for everyday expenses and pay off this card in full every month. If ever you incur service charges, it means your everyday expenses have gotten out of hand and adjustments are in order.
4. Using the wrong credit card to travel
People often mistake a credit card’s network (e.g. Visa, MasterCard, Discover) for its issuer (e.g. Capital One, Bank of America, Chase, Citi). While this isn’t the primary mistake we’ll be addressing here, it’s a good thing to clear up, especially given the importance of both credit networks and issuers to overseas travel. Your credit network dictates both the number of merchant locations and, more importantly in this instance, the countries in which you can use your card. Visa and MasterCard have the greatest worldwide acceptance, so you should open a Visa credit card or a MasterCard credit card before traveling abroad or even booking your travel accommodations.
I suggest getting your card before making arrangements for flights and hotels instead of simply before you leave because foreign transaction fees get assessed any time your card is processed by a foreign merchant. This is where your card’s issuer come in; some issuers—namely Capital One, Chase, Citi and HSBC—offer no international fee credit cards.
Using a credit card abroad is preferable to cash because Visa and MasterCard automatically provide exchange rates that can be up to 15% less than the most frequently used ways of converting cash.
5. Mistaking the minimum payment for the total amount due
The minimum payment is simply the amount you must pay each month in order to stay current on your bill or avoid the further progression of delinquency. It’s usually around 3% of the balance. The amount due shows up on your statement when you become delinquent and is the sum of your missed payments plus the current month’s payment. As a result, many people see that amount, get overwhelmed and wind up sending nothing—not even a minimum payment, which would prevent them from becoming further delinquent.

The Most Profitable Niche for Online Money Making

We already know that in order to make money online massively we need to be good at something that not many people do. I don’t know if you know about Jacob Hiller but he managed to earn mad dough only by basically telling people how to jump higher in his ebook. He’s just one of many example anyway. But what if the only thing you know the best is making money online itself? Of course you either going to sell an ebook about how to make money online or start a blog that will tell people how to make money online properly in daily basis. Those are the most common choices and apparently where the most internet marketers go.
But this niche is also where most internet marketers fail miserably. Make money online niche is one of the hardest competition out there, but unfortunately NOT the most profitable one. Let me show you why.
#1, Almost Everything You Do Would be Useless
When you’re building a make money online blog with rock solid contents, reliable information, nice onpage and offpage SEO work, you will eventually attract more traffic after quite sometime. But 80% your visitors will be those who already in this business and at least already have their own websites. These folks know exactly which one is the ad, which one is an affiliate link, which one is the daily post and which one is the paid review. So basically, every effort you do in your blog will be pretty much useless, since you’re not tricking anybody!
#2, Google Ads: More Traffic for Less Income
Google Ads is suppose to be one of your biggest income source. But in make money online niche, it won’t be. I was applying Google Ads in one of my blog which was competing in make money online niche. And that was the very blog of mine with the worst Google Ads income. First, it’s because the visitors know very well that it’s a Google Ad unit no matter how hard I try to blend it with the contents. So expecting for clicks is almost impossible in this niche. But the worst part is, you can’t even expect to earn well from the impression either. Simply because most webmasters in this niche depend a lot more on the SEO to get traffic, and not the SEM. And since less advertisers means less eCPM, so basically you will earn a lot less for a lot more traffic you got. Sounds damn terrible, doesn’t it?
#3, They Want All Your Secrets, and They Want it Free!
Internet marketers don’t have time for your yapping or your insightful thoughts over things. In make money online niche, your visitors don’t care about your ramblings. Yes, they don’t unless you’re John Chow. All they want is your secrets, new SEO strategies, new dofollow high PageRank sites, or everything else that would come in handy for their business (and pretty much everything they need to beat you in the competition). So in order to keep them coming back, you need to share rock solid information about make money online for free every single day. There are less space where you can have fun with your writings because these bastards just won’t care. So basically you’re gonna wake up every single morning thinking ‘what the hell am I gonna write today? I shared everything I know already!’. You might end up throwing-in the towel soon enough, unless you can handle this for the next 5 years.
#4, People Don’t Buy Make Money Online Ebook Anymore
Let’s face it. It only happened back in the early of 2000. People were curious about make money online back then they were all over the ebooks like the housewives at Walmart on Christmas holidays. But internet marketers grew up sick of these ebooks. So no matter how hard you try to make a compelling rock solid ebook, everytime people landed on your sales page they would think ‘it’s just another same old crap’. And even if you got sales, believe me that those who bought your ebook are only your competitors who would upload it to the forums, or copy and rewrite it to make their own ebook. So just give it up already.
So, the Solution?
I’m not expecting you to agree with me, but in make money online niche I’d rather make the blog work for me than the other way around. Making the blog work for you here isn’t referring to auto generated content, autoblog, or any other blackhat method. It means you have to find a way how to get rock solid unique contents every day without even have to write at all. Only by that you can put your focus more on the SEO rather than tiring yourself up analyzing, experimenting, and writing posts in daily basis. Is it impossible? I don’t think so. You just need to rethink the whole process and you’ll find the way.

What is Next?

Working online you will find 'time' is your most precious asset therefore learn to 'coordinate' your use of it in advance! By planning each day and week, in advance, you will increase productivity will decreasing your frustration! Plan your work then work your plan!

Online success can be very hard to achieve due not only to the information overload that comes with working on the internet but also our own 'time wasting' habits. As entrepreneurs there will be many responsibilities that will need to be address in order for business success to be realized therefore you must be as productive as possible. 5 areas that can commonly 'burn' significant and valuable time are discussed above but yet they can easily be managed with a little effort. Selling Domains To Generate More Money

If they wish to become financially free, internet marketers know that their chances are greatly increased if they have a wide range of income sources. It is for this reason that many internet marketers are developing multiple projects simultaneously. An excellent way to make money online, besides creating your own products and affiliate sales, is by buying and selling domains. If you approach it the right way, then domain "flipping" as it is known, can be quite profitable. Here are some hints that will help you generate even more cash from the sale of domains.

Your negotiation skills will need a little polishing. Learning negotiation skills is vital to doing business. No matter what you do, people buying from you will always attempt to get you to offer more for the same price, whether through additional products or services, or at the very least try to convince you to lower your prices. There are some people who will not agree to be swayed from their position. We believe that you will be better armed by learning some negotiation skills, even if the latter is a valid position to take. If you bargain with your potential buyers, or even merely agree to do so, you will improve your credibility in their eyes and thus increase the chances of you actually selling them something. You may even be able to apply those bargaining skills to increasing the size of your sale! You should develop a website for your domain flipping business. This website can be used to present a little information on the domains you are selling. You also need to provide a little information about yourself as well as about your business and its policies. This way you can build a respectable reputation for your business. A website and a professional online presence will help improve the trust of buyers. Rarely are forum posts and e-mails enough to make a sale go through. Sometimes, additional effort is needed. Even more importantly, a website will enable you to market to a larger audience than if you were attempting to sell individual domains.

You must set the correct price for your domain. You will find it hard to turn a large profit on a domain that has never hosted a site. If your pricing is appropriate then you will still be able to make money from these domains. It is unlikely that you will earn a profit of hundreds of dollars from a domain name that has never been used before. Overpricing your domains can lead to you not making the sale. If you under price your domains, though, you could end up losing money. When pricing your domains, keep an eye out for the price of other types of domains and use that as a guide in your own calculations. Domain selling is a legitimate way to generate extra cash online. There are people who turn domain selling into their main source of online income. There are others who simply use it as a hobby. It is completely up to you to decide how much work and time you will put into this online cash generation technique. If your goal is to simply generate a little additional cash then that's perfectly okay. It is possible to turn it into a full time business as well!.
