Five Easy Ways To Keep Your Readers Coming Back For More

Engaging your readers is arguably the most challenging part of blogging. This is due to the constantly growing number of blogs that could diminish your own readership, as attention becomes more fragmented among all the exciting new posts. Here are five easy ways to keep your readers coming back for more:

1. Gain Their Trust

First, you must gain the trust of your audience. You don’t have to proclaim yourself to be a guru in your field in order to get your readers to trust you. What you need is to is create authority and respect by delivering great content that inspires and guides your audience to do something.

2. Votes And “Likes”

Probably the easiest way for your readers to interact is by voting in a poll. Make sure to highlight the new poll in a new post and remind readers to send their votes just before you close the poll, then publish the results.  Also, the “Like” button allows readers to make a statement with one click. Unlike voting, a “Like” is public and reveals a stronger sign of commitment to your website.

3. Ask Lots Of Questions

Asking questions will not diminish your authority. In fact, the only way to grow is to learn and provoking discussions can snowball into full-fledged discussions that keep people coming back for more. When someone leaves a comment on your blog, an immediate response helps encourage the conversations and even make readers to comment again on the same post. Always answer people’s questions in blog entries. It not only helps foster interactivity, but also encourages people to ask more questions too.

4. Give Readers What They Want

Your readers landed on our site because they were looking for some very specific information, whether it’s tips, tools, inspiration etc. If you can deliver that, then you might have them stick around for a while and get to trust your brand. Your readers’ comments are priceless, because it allows you to you get an insight on their thoughts and concerns. This is especially good as it allows you to tailor your posts to the information they are asking you to provide. Plus, you can also visit the link of your commenters and comment on their sites as well.

5. Give Your Audience An Incentive

No need to get overboard; something as simple as a plug-in is a great idea. For example, use a service called “ComLuv” and you can use it to post your readers’ last blog posts beside their comment. Now, this is a cool way of rewarding your readers, don’t you think? Also, use contests to boost audience participation and make your readers come back for more.
